Here are the 8 Rights of consumer that all Pinoy should know.

1. Right To Basic Needs - It the right of a consumer to buy affordable basic needs, like Rice, Bread, Canned Goods, Shelter, Medicines, School Supplies, Fruits and Vegetable and other basic needs.

2. Right To Safety - It is the right of the consumer to ensure his safety. Safety-First. Especially on buying foods like canned goods, always check the label and expiration dates. On buying electrical requirements and devices also check the product certification marks like the Philippine Standards Product Certification Seal or the Seal of Import Commodity Clearance (ICC)

3. Right To Information - One of the right of a consumer is the right to know the correct information this will protect the consumer from fraudulent advertisement and wrong product presentation, and always check the product label: the manufacturer and the expiration date and ingredients.

4. Right To Choose - It is also the right of a consumer to choose the best quality of product available in a reasonable price. Read every details of the products especially in buying medicines, know the difference between branded and generic medicines.

5. Right To Presentation - It is the right of a consumer to attend to the public hearings and consultations. Be vigilant if the law of the consumer rights are well exercised.

6. Right To Redress - Redress is a remedy or set right an undesirable or unfair situation. It is the right of a consumer to receive the product without defects and if there is any, it is the right of the consumer to bring back the defective product and turn it over to the consumer welfare desk. Remember the 3 (Three) "R" a.) Repair, b.) Replace c.) Refund. The consumer the have the right to consult the rightful agency to take action on the matter if the store can't provide the services.
Under Republic Act No. 7394 "The Consumer Act of the Philippines" It is the policy of the State to protect the interests of the consumer, promote his general welfare and to establish standards of conduct for business and industry
7. Right To Consumer Education - It is the right of a consumer to be research the available and right information about a certain product or services and issues about consumer through Radio, Television, Print, and Internet. Visit the official website of DTI www.dti.gov.ph  

8. Right To Healthy Environment - It is also the right of a consumer to live in clean and peaceful environment. Observe the 3 R - a.) Reduce b.) Reuse c.) Recycle  to maintain its cleanliness and order in the community.
