How to add Widget/Gadget above Header in Blogspot

Do you want to add banner above your blog header? if Yes! you're in the right place, lol.

As we all know we can rearranged our gadgets/widgets in the layout designer by drag-n-drop, but we can hardly drop it right above the header, so in this tutorial that I'm going to share with you how to put/add a gadget/widget above the blog header with step by step procedure with pictures.

So here's how:

of course log-in first to blogger.com

Step 1.  Backup your template. - It's very important to backup your template first, so that if something went wrong you can easily restore your old template.

On your Blogger Dashboard click/drop-down 'more option' and Click Template then at the upper right portion click Backup/Restore, and Download the full template.

Step 2. After downloading the backup template, click Edit Html  see figure 1

 Step 3. Locate or find this code below. Change the value of maxwidget to '5' and showaddelement to 'yes' see figure 2  then Save Template. After saving click on Blogger Dashboard.

Step 4. On your Blogger Dashboard click/drop-down 'more option' and Click Layout. Now you can see Add a Gadget link on you layout-design.

And your Done! you can now add gadgets above Header. Thanks!
