A little introduction
To verify your Paypal account you need to have a credit card or debit card, I personally chose debit card; for me it is more safer than credit cards. Debit cards can only be used when you have loaded some amount of money on your account. In my case I use East West VISA debit card to verify my Paypal Account.
Now that you have already your East West VISA Debit Card, you can now use it to verify you Paypal Account.

Visit the nearest East West bank branch in your area, East West Bank has branches nationwide. The tellers are also familiar in handling Paypal transactions so they can really assist you, just tell them that you need a VISA debit card card. Minimum deposit is only Php 100.00 but I suggest to deposit at-least Php 200.00. Present at least 1 valid Government issued ID and proof of billing like Electric Bills, Water Bills or Telephone Bills. Fill up their application form. Your VISA Debit card will be released within 4-5 working days depending on your location.
Upon Receiving the card you will be advised to changed the PIN Code, and Signed at the back to activate the card.
- Log-in to PayPal official website.
- Click on Profile>Add/Edit Credit Card
- Make sure that your Name in Paypal and in your card are the same
- Select Card Type = VISA
- Enter your 16 Digit Card Number
- Select Expiration Date
- Enter the 3-digits number located at the back of your card as Card Verification Number
- Lastly verify your Billing address if it matches the your billing address in you card.
- Add Card
Once you successfully added your card, you will be deducted Php100.00 in Debit Card.
Paypal will ask you 4 digit code to fully verify your account. Go to East West Branch for assistance and they will give you the 4 digit code, then you can now have your Paypal verified.

ReplyDeleteI tried verifying my eastwest debit card on paypal, however when I went to the bank, the 4-digit code to confirm the activation is missing on my transaction history. Does it take days for the 4-digit code to appear? Did you wait a few days before you went to the bank to get the 4-digit code? Thanks!
hello ma'am joy, in my case I came back to the bank after a week. just want to ask if your paypal transaction was credited to your bank statement. if so, ask the teller for the code. in my case they called their head office for verification on my paypal transaction, and gave me the 4-digit codes. thanks

DeleteHmm.. have you tried looking for the PayPal code from your EastWest account online? Since all credit and debit transactions are posted, I'm assuming the code is also indicated in there as a debit description. . (just guessing)

ReplyDeleteI have a paypal account and linked my EastWest Debit card. It took (Paypal) 145.00 from my online account and I cannot locate the four digit code they said on the website. Do I need to go to the branch where I got this card to get the pass code? HELP

Deleteyes.. call one of their CSRs to check the code. Just not sure but if you have an account online, the transactions are posted with the Paypal passcode as a description.

Sir adam, just be sure that you deposited an amount of money to your card or account atleast 200.00 Pesos.

i havent got my code.. and i cant seem to find it in my transaction account... who will i asked.. i went to the nearest branch here in my place but manager said that they are having the same problem with other clients.. how will i see my code.. i was charged 100 for that and havent received any code from paypal

Deletehi flora, the PIN code is inside the envelop together with your card, it is in the black shaded rectangular size. To change your PIN code, visit the bank's ATM you will see an option to change your PIN. Thanks

ReplyDeleteafter you created an account on online, merong kang ipiprint tapos dalhin mo sa branch mo kasi kelangan ipaapprove mo muna yung account mo online. Sila ang magaactivate ng account mo online. Same thing goes kung mag add ka pa ng another account. Kaya twice ako pumunta ng branch para magpaapprove lang. Yung first time may pinaprint sa akin tapos yung second time, wala na pinaprint.

Deleteno need to open an account with the bank kung prepaid card lang. just bring the necessary docs and IDs and pay the fees.
Deletenow as for debit cards, remember that ALL debit cards are connected to a bank account. Hindi sha tulad ng prepaid na pwedeng zero balance dahil ang bank account is may maintaining balance. Yung EastWest basic account only has P100 maintaining and P500 to earn interest (one of the lowest maintaining balance in the industry) that comes with a debit card already. Most savings account from banks come with a debit card with mastercard or visa logos already.
I have two basic accounts with EastWest for security purposes, one I use for purchases and the other where I maintain my funds. Kaya I just transfer funds online very easily.
And good news to prepaid cardholders. I believe we may now reload online. I'm still in the process of enrolling my prepaid card and I'll get back to you once I have successfully done reloading it using my online account.

is this forum is still open: just want to ask if someone have experience something like this, the 5-7 days minimum and maximum days of processing from paypal to EWB debit card is over in my case, but its been already 8 days now, and the my money is still not showing in my account in EWB, how many days should I wait for the EWB to process it in updating my EWB debit card account, coz the process in PayPal to EWB is now over, the PayPal team have done well, but the EWB team, I really dont know are they updating there records?
